Kiss Daniel change name to kizz Daniel

The leadership of G-Worldwide is bent on prosecuting their former music star, Kizz Daniel despite the fact that he had altered his name.

Daniel Anidugbe

Popular singer, Daniel Anidugbe, formerly known as Kiss Daniel, has changed his name to Kizz Daniel.

The singer made this known in an Instagram post during the week. He had put up a picture of the new name with the caption, “Moving forward. Call me Kizz Daniel.”

Shortly after Daniel made the post, several blogs reported that with the move, the singer was now free of all obligations to his former label, G-Worldwide Entertainment.

However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Daniel’s former manager, Louiza Williams, stated that the singer’s recent action had no effect on the court case.

“I actually did not know that he had changed his name until you told me. However, there is no big deal about that; it has nothing to do with the case,” said the musician’s ex-manager.

“The next court date is June 26. It is not true that the case has been settled; so, I don’t know where all those reports came from. If there was anything like that, I would be aware of it. Though Kizz Daniel doesn’t come to court personally, his lawyers appear on his behalf and I am sure they pass relevant information across to him accordingly. The court ruled that both parties should maintain the status quo, but Kizz Daniel is doing what is best known to him, which is contrary to what the court ordered.”

On what move G-Worldwide is considering, Williams said,

“The company definitely has a plan but I cannot reveal anything for now.” Tori

Lai Mohammed has urged the global anti corruption body Transparency International (TI) to support, rather than condemn, the Buhari Administration’s fight against corruption

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has urged the global anti corruption body Transparency International (TI) to support, rather than condemn, the Buhari Administration’s fight against corruption.

Lai Mohammed ”Nigeria has never had a more transparent, more accountable government than the Buhari Administration,” the Minister said when he received a TI delegation, led by the Chair of the body’s International Board, Delia Ferreira Rubio, in Abuja on Friday. ”As a policy, this government is the most committed to fighting corruption.

We need your support in the area of advocacy and capacity building,” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed said TI and the local civil society organizations affiliated to it have not offered the necessary support to the Administration, adding: ”They look at the actions of an aberrant few to condemn the government.”

He said when the government disclosed that just 55 people stole 1.34 trillion naira between 2006 and 2013, and when it published the list of looters, in response to a challenge from the opposition, a section of the civil society was busy parroting the cliche that the allegations were one-sided, instead of supporting the government’s action.

The Minister also tasked TI and its affiliates to show more understanding for the sociological complexities of fighting corruption in Nigeria, especially because it operates a federal system of government under which the federal government has no control over the actions of the federating states.

He said the Administration is not just fighting corruption with laws and prosecution, but also with education and inclusiveness in government, citing the government’s ‘Change Begins With Me’ programme as an example of efforts being made to achieve attitudinal change among the citizenry. Alhaji Mohammed said Nigeria is succeeding in its anti-corruption fight because the fight is being led by a President whose integrity is beyond reproach noting:

”Even his worst critics won’t say he indulges in or encourages corruption.”

He said corrupt persons are using looted funds to mount a virulous campaign against the administration, especially in the social media, because they know that the re-election of the President will spell doom for them.

For her part, the TI global chair said she decided to visit Nigeria, her first-ever visit to Africa, because the country can set the tone for the continent in the fight against corruption.

Ms Ferreira Rubio said TI’s mandate is to offer support through civil society organizations and the private sector to foster the fight against corruption. She said while the government is doing a lot to fight corruption, it should ensure more transparency and more efficiency in service delivery. ”We are not an opposition anywhere in the world. We are just an NGO working in over 100 countries of the world. We are not enemies. We are here to help" she said

In a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka sternly warned all pro-Biafra groups and their sympathizers to retrace their steps.

The Delta State police command has uncovered alleged plots by members of the outlaws Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to disrupt the peace in the state during the May 29 (Democracy Day) celebration.

But the command said it will not fold its arms and allow IPOB and other allied pro-Biafra groups have a field day, as adequate measures have taken to foil whatever they might come up with.

In a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka sternly warned all pro-Biafra groups and their sympathizers to retrace their steps.

Aniamaka said the command will not “condone any form of ill motivated protest or agitation that will jeopardize the peace and progress of the state.”

He recalled that not too long ago “the ill-advised activities of these outlawed groups resulted in so many deaths of the innocent, destruction of property, disruption of business activities, amongst others, and warns that the police and other security agencies will not fold their arms and watch persons or group of persons foment trouble that will disrupt the peace and order in the state.”
While acknowledging the “constitutional rights of law abiding citizens to embark on processions, picketing or other forms of protests, he noted that the rights must be exercised within the confines of the law and must not be used to cause anarchy and mayhem.

In the same vein, the state government has said that it will deal decisively with any person or group which activities threaten public peace, order and security.

A statement from the State Ministry of Information, advised members of the public particularly, Deltans to go about their normal and lawful duties and to be weary of the activities of IPOB.

It reiterated the commitment of government to the corporate and peaceful existence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Tori

The U.S. government has warned the Syrian government not to execute its planned attack of rebels in the Southern part of the country following a “de-escalation zone” agreement signed by three countries.

The U.S. government has warned the Syrian government not to execute its planned attack of rebels in the Southern part of the country following a “de-escalation zone” agreement signed by three countries.
It would be recalled that the U.S., Russia, and Jordan agreed last year on a “de-escalation zone” in southwestern Syria to freeze the lines of conflict.
In a statement released Friday, the State Department said it was concerned about reports that Assad’s forces were preparing for an operation near the Jordanian and Israeli borders.
The U.S. said it will take “firm and appropriate measures” to protect a cease-fire in southern Syria if President Bashar Assad’s forces attack rebels there.
The State Department further warned the Syrian government against “any actions that risk broadening the conflict.”
The U.S. and Israel are growing increasingly concerned about Iranian military activities in Syria in support of Assad.
Israel says it does not want Iranian forces massing close to the nearby occupied Golan Heights.

Obasanjo not in support of buhari ---- presidency

Olusegun Obasanjo
Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has stated that former president, Olusegun Obasanjo is angry with her principal because Buhari is fixing the power Obasanjo failed to fix after collecting $16bn from Nigerian treasury.
This follows the recent face-off between President Buhari and Obasanjo.
It would be recalled that Buhari, while hosting members of the Buhari Support Organization led by the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Hameed Ali, on Tuesday, wondered what Obasanjo achieved after spending a huge amount on power.
In a swift reaction, Obasanjo had stated that he was ready to be probed over the $16bn allegedly expended by his administration on power project.
But Onochie on her Twitter page called on Nigerians to join the Presidency in demanding for funds allocated to power projects during Obasanjo’s administration.
“It’s now a clear choice between Pres. Buhari & a coalition of past corrupt leaders coordinated by ex-Pres Obasanjo.

“He failed to answer a simple question posed by our President who inherited a nation in darkness. Buhari is fixing Nigeria with improved power supply and Obasanjo is angry.

“Join the ‘Big Question’, after Spending $16 billion, Not Naira, Obasanjo #WhereIsThePower.
“Join the President and other Nigerians to ask the same question.” she wrote.
